About The Commandments of YHWH

The purpose of this website is to explore and develop the consequences of Hebraic Christianity and it’s partner, Messianic Judaism. It begins with two premises: that we are eternally saved by grace through faith in Yashua, and that we order our lives here by applying the laws given to Moses.

The Commandments of YHWH website is a continuing project to categorize and catalog Biblical instructions for an efficient and righteous life. This includes the things we must do, from the Law of Moses and the Commandments of Yashua, and also the things we should do, as discussed in such books as Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the New Testament epistles. It includes the instructions of the prophets, and the examples of Hebrew history.

The Commandments blog is a vehicle for “thinking out loud” to develop the practical, pragmatic aspects of reconciling ancient society with our modern society. This has been a concern of Jewish and Christian thinkers from the beginning. When YHWH set up the laws of ancient Hebrew society, he expressed a cultural ideal to create a happy and productive nation of tribes. No nation, including Israel, ever reached that ideal. But the ideal still exists and may be approached.

The blog is not meant to be a solitary platform, but rather a dialog and a collaboration. Many hands make light work, and ten heads are better than nine. There are many questions and many answers in life. The goal is to find the optimal answers to the relevant questions. We can find those answers together.

Our vision is a future with new frontiers (geographic, economic, philosophical, and technological) where families (nuclear families, extended families, clans, and tribes) can enjoy increasing personal freedoms (thought, belief, expression, association, possession, action, and self-actualization) and independence (financial, spiritual, political, judicial). In other words, to make the family the central unit of society. Again. “God setteth the solitary in families”– Psalm 68:6. In a future like that, every family and tribe will become a social laboratory for further exploration of the mysteries of YHWH.
