New Genealogy Page

It is impossible to understand the tribes of the Bible without having a basic understanding of the genealogical structure of the families in the Bible. When I first put up the website, I created a jpeg file of the genealogy from Adam to the sons of Jacob. That was a good start.
I have uploaded a new genealogy page which is a vast improvement over the old one. Want to compare? Here is the old one. Here is the new one. The old one took me about a week to create, and only went to the sons of Jacob. The new one took me an afternoon, and goes all the way to Jesus. It is not exhaustive, but it is pretty inclusive. I will improve it over time by adding more people to the list. I did it using the free open-source software Freemind.
Pay close attention to the buttons on the top of the screen. They are your lifeline if you lose the chart. Of the three on the left, the middle one is the most useful. It brings up a search box. Enter the person you want to find, and the chart will center that person on the screen. Of the buttons at the center top, Back and Forward don’t appear to do anything. Increase, Shrink, Fit, and Reset do just about what you’d expect. Shadow adds shadows, Information gives you some keyboard shortcuts, and finally there’s a button where you can change the color of the screen. Cool.
The reason I chose this format to re-do my genealogy is because it is a powerful program. You can click on any node and fold or unfold it’s children. You can see the entire genealogy of the Bible by moving around through the nodes. I’ve noticed on my hard drive copy that it has a bug where the lines will show up in odd places on occasion, and then go back where they belong as you drag the mouse over them. I don’t know if it will do that on the Web or not. Also, let me know if your browser doesn’t show the chart at all.
I will eventually take down the old genealogy page, but not before perfecting the new one. I want to add relevant Bible verses to it, as I did with the old page. Also, I want to make sure that the new page works for everyone. Enjoy, and tell me what you think.
