Problems Resolved

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

After 45 minutes on hold and 15 minutes with a tech support representative, I seem to have resolved all the problems with the website.  Cross my fingers, knock on wood, and pray to YHWH for continuing blessings!

Website Maintenance

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

I seem to be locked out of my website.  I can’t figure out why, but I appear to be able to post to the blog.  More details later.

On the Economics of Computing and Other Life Hacks

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

Economical Computing
My old fast lap-top’s fan died, so I got a new older laptop and have been configuring it. I took this opportunity to finally dive into the Linux operating system head-first. I have spent the last 5 days learning the operating system and loading my software and documents, and basically getting all […]

Main Website Overhaul

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

I just finished the bulk of the work overhauling the main Law pages. I have them uploaded, but they are in “beta” form. I haven’t completely debugged them yet, but I have navigated a representative sample of them in the latest Firefox browser and they seem to work fine. Later I will […]

Easier Navigation on the Main Website

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Today I began the process of overhauling the main website to make it easier to navigate, as well as easier to maintain.  I am about half-way through re-formatting the Law pages (which according to my statistics tracker, as well as my own feelings, are the most important on the site).  You won’t see anything new […]

Sidebar added to single posts

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

I started learning about the php language today.  Php appears to be a database querying language which tells this blog how to display which posts and information and under what circumstances.  For my first experiment, I added the navigation sidebar to the pages with the single posts.  So now when you click to individual articles, […]

Typos Explained

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

I have noticed lately that when I go back and read my posts a few hours or so after writing them, they sometimes have typos in them. Because of the content of my last article, I want to assure everyone that I know how to spell and how to type. Here’s the explanation.
Since […]

Optimize Yourself, Optimize Your Tribe

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

One initiative every family should pursue with vigor is education. Much of the evil in the world can trace its source to ignorance in one form or another. On a simple level, ignorance of YHWH’s laws leads people to do many things which are hurtful of themselves, others, or their environment. On […]

Taking Care of Business: The Tribal Model of Income

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Introduction
Why do many large families in the United States require public assistance handouts as they barely survive in abject poverty? It is because they bought into the Standard American Income Model.
The median income for a family of four is around $40,000 per year. Not bad, until you realize that this assumes both mom […]

Learning Web Languages

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

I have spent the last week learning the html and css web design languages.  I started with the tutorials at www.html.net.  Then I volunteered to upgrade another website.  I am learning a lot by doing.  The css style sheet is very powerful.  I wish I had been able to use one when I first started […]

Thou Shalt Not Take the Name of YHWH thy God in Vain

Monday, January 7th, 2008

The Name of YHWH
YHWH is His Name. Exodus 15:3, Jeremiah 33:2, Amos 5:8, 9:6
YHWH of Hosts is His Name. Isaiah 47:4, 48:2, 51:15, 54:5, Jeremiah 10:16, 31:35, 32:18, 50:34, 51:19, Amos 4:13
And YHWH shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one YHWH, and his name one. Zechariah 14:9
And […]

Why YHWH?

Monday, January 7th, 2008

To hopefully avoid confusion in what could be a confusing discussion, I will use the generic “God” in this article to refer narrowly to the Christian god. Knowing the propensity of the wicked to blaspheme, I have approached this subject with great fear and respect for the name. Hallowed be the name of […]

Good Sex Leads to a Good Tribe

Sunday, January 6th, 2008

My last article, Sex and Death in the Law, looked at capital punishment as it relates to sexual relationships in the Bible. This could be thought of as “bad sex,” or at least sex with bad results in a Biblical society. In this article we’ll explore “good sex” in the Bible. We’ll […]

The Song of Solomon

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

Song of Solomon 1:1-17
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine. Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee. Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought […]

Erotic Imagery in the Song of Solomon

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

Body (from the top down)
Hair, Head, Temples, Countenance
Thy hair is as a flock of goats. 4:1, 6:5
My head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night. 5:2
His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven. 5:11
Thine head upon thee is like […]

Wordpress Upgrade

Friday, January 4th, 2008

I upgraded my Wordpress blogging software to version 2.3.2. This is ostensibly supposed to make the website more efficient and make me more productive. I can’t wait to test out that proposition.   :-)   I hope to post some new content this weekend.
