This weekend I attended a trade show related to our family business. Next weekend I will be attending another. As a result of preparing for it, it will be miraculous if I get time to make a meaningful post to the blog or upgrade to the site this week. But I believe in miracles, so […]

After 45 minutes on hold and 15 minutes with a tech support representative, I seem to have resolved all the problems with the website. Cross my fingers, knock on wood, and pray to YHWH for continuing blessings!

I seem to be locked out of my website. I can’t figure out why, but I appear to be able to post to the blog. More details later.

Economical Computing
My old fast lap-top’s fan died, so I got a new older laptop and have been configuring it. I took this opportunity to finally dive into the Linux operating system head-first. I have spent the last 5 days learning the operating system and loading my software and documents, and basically getting all […]

I just finished the bulk of the work overhauling the main Law pages. I have them uploaded, but they are in “beta” form. I haven’t completely debugged them yet, but I have navigated a representative sample of them in the latest Firefox browser and they seem to work fine. Later I will […]

Today I began the process of overhauling the main website to make it easier to navigate, as well as easier to maintain. I am about half-way through re-formatting the Law pages (which according to my statistics tracker, as well as my own feelings, are the most important on the site). You won’t see anything new […]

I started learning about the php language today. Php appears to be a database querying language which tells this blog how to display which posts and information and under what circumstances. For my first experiment, I added the navigation sidebar to the pages with the single posts. So now when you click to individual articles, […]

I have noticed lately that when I go back and read my posts a few hours or so after writing them, they sometimes have typos in them. Because of the content of my last article, I want to assure everyone that I know how to spell and how to type. Here’s the explanation.
Since […]

I have spent the last week learning the html and css web design languages. I started with the tutorials at www.html.net. Then I volunteered to upgrade another website. I am learning a lot by doing. The css style sheet is very powerful. I wish I had been able to use one when I first started […]

I upgraded my Wordpress blogging software to version 2.3.2. This is ostensibly supposed to make the website more efficient and make me more productive. I can’t wait to test out that proposition. :-) I hope to post some new content this weekend.

When I started this blog, one of my biggest concerns was that the original main commandments website would become invisible behind the blog. I initially worked around this by adding a page to aid in navigating to the original site. Today I implemented a better and more permanent solution– hyperlinks attached to the blog header. […]

I just discovered that by changing the word “content” to “excerpt” within the bowels of the index.php file in Wordpress, I could make it so that the archive pages show summaries of the current articles, instead of showing the entire articles. Then you can click on the titles to go to the individual article pages. […]

It is impossible to understand the tribes of the Bible without having a basic understanding of the genealogical structure of the families in the Bible. When I first put up the website, I created a jpeg file of the genealogy from Adam to the sons of Jacob. That was a good start.
I have […]

I replaced the Microsoft Word document of the law (235 pages) with a new pdf file for compatibility purposes. It is available for download on this page.
I also re-edited, re-formatted, and replaced the files for the Scottish Psalter download. It was originally a Word document and an html page. Now it is […]

In yet another show of ambition, I have updated the “About” page for this blog to clarify the background and intentions for the whole website.

I just wrote an outline for a series of articles I am planning regarding biblical tribalism as evidenced in the Old Testament. Why is this important? Because much of biblical law is meaningless on an individual level. It must be practiced by a collective. Furthermore, YHWH’s covenants were always with tribes. […]

I upgraded to WordPress 2.3.1 and my permalinks stopped working. After undoing and redoing the upgrade and messing with the .php code a little, I did a google search and discovered that Yahoo’s “Permalinks” plugin doesn’t work with Wordpress 2.3.1, however, someone at WordPress wrote a one-line plugin that works around the problem in […]

Hello Everyone!
I am experimenting with turning the Commandments website into a blog. The original site can still be seen here.
My intention is to write 2-3 articles per week offering suggestions for how to apply the ancient laws today. Please leave feedback so I will know if there is an interest in this type […]
