Genealogy of Adam
It is impossible to understand the tribes of the Bible without having a basic understanding of the genealogical structure of the families in the Bible. Here is a chart of the genealogies from Adam to Jesus. It is not exhaustive yet, but it does give a lot of information. The accuracy starts to be questionable as it gets close to Jesus, because not all the genealogies agree with each other. I will be making a study of that to try to nail down as much accuracy and certainty as possible.
Pay close attention to the buttons on the top of the screen. They are your lifeline if you lose the chart. Of the three on the left, the middle one is the most useful. It brings up a search box. Enter the person you want to find, and the chart will center that person on the screen. Of the buttons at the center top, Back and Forward don’t appear to do anything. Increase, Shrink, Fit, and Reset do just about what you’d expect. Shadow adds shadows, Information gives you some keyboard shortcuts, and finally there’s a button where you can change the color of the screen. Cool.
You can left- or right-click on any node and fold or unfold it’s children. You can see the entire genealogy of the Bible by moving around through the nodes. I’ve noticed on my hard drive copy that it has a bug where the lines will show up in odd places on occasion, and then go back where they belong as you drag the mouse over them. I don’t know if it will do that on the Web or not. Also, let me know if your browser doesn’t show the chart at all.
